ERM Energy House One
As a means of demonstrating the most advanced energy management systems in the market today ERM and its associates of energy experts have developed the first in a series of Energy Homes at 2931 Melanie Lane in Oakton VA.
This residential energy retrofit of an existing home was developed in association with the homeowner to afford this residence with the most innovative energy systems at a discounted price in exchange for the opportunity to demonstrate these systems to a select public.
The Melanie Lane project features an interactive home energy system that monitors the properties energy usage, coordinates and reports on its heating and cooling. In addition the home exhibits a complete energy efficient lighting scheme, green VOC paint, water management systems, solar hot water, energy efficient weatherization, insulation, and a bottom line analysis of all those programs for payback and there return on investment for the property owner.
In a constantly changing energy market place the demonstration house was felt to be the best vehicle to acquaint consumers with the concept of energy management and all that can be done to make a home safe and comfortable and to reduce its energy consumption. This is a holistic approach to updating your property, from safety to energy consumption all the way through the construction process ERM is your representative.

Project Description Back to Top
ERM Energy House One - the establishment of an energy show house on Melanie Lane in Oakton VA.
The Energy House concept is to take a current project and highlight the holistic approach of energy management to residential properties. This holistic approach first analyzes a properties needs and designs a specific program to make the home safe and comfortable and then to meet the owners budget and desires to become energy efficient. All properties are different and will be studied with various solutions being applied to each situation. In order for this to be accomplished a team of energy professionals is organized to address the needs of those owners and properties. These contractors are experienced in their trade, on the cutting edge of an energy industry which is changing each and every day. The Energy House will be the best venue to exhibit these innovations and changes. Potential customers will be invited and the general public informed of the opportunity to learn first hand what is being done and can be done to make their home energy efficient. This collaborative endeavor between the ERM energy professionals and the homeowner. The energy makeover of an Energy House home is a result of the lowered pricing given by the contractors in exchange for the display opportunity for our work and trades. It is hoped from this opportunity that a significant amount of leads can be generated for the energy team for the holistic approach to energy management. The Energy Professionals Back to Top

Energy Expert Booths
Each contractor will have the opportunity to set up a independent booth to display their company and services. During the open house we are asking that a person be on hand to man the booth and speak to customers that would like to ask questions.
System Tours
During the open house times tours will be organized each half hour. These tours will be lead by individual sponsors and one of our energy experts in order acquaint our visitors to the energy systems on display in the ERM Energy House One demonstration home. All those interested in attending the show house need to click onto the tour site and sign-up for a specific time and date for their visit. All tour participants must be registered as this is a private home and ERM wants to keep the size of the tour groups to a manageable size to maneuver the through the house and to see all that is offered.
Registrations will be taken at the door during the open house dates, but will only be offered on a first come first serve basis. Once the time slots are taken and the tour is filled, a visitor to the site without a reservation will be allocated to the next available time slot, which may result in a wait period for a tour opportunity.
